The Brief

JoyHub sought out 57Blocks to create a property management platform for owners, property managers, and the residents they serve.

The co-founders of JoyHub, Justin and Liz, understood that there was a wealth of data that wasn’t being harnessed in rental properties and wanted to capture that inherent value.

On the management side, they wanted to be able to screen prospective renters with an online application, send and sign lease contracts electronically, check maintenance requests, and collect rent payments all in one seamless experience.

For tenants, they envisioned a product that could let users search for housing, apply online, sign and renew leases, submit maintenance requests, purchase ancillary services such as renter’s insurance and furnishings, and automate all rent-related payments.

Baseline

One of the first tasks 57Blocks did was to document the proposed ideas into workflows for both the property manager and the tenant use cases, thereby identifying any gaps in functionality or logic.

We then were able to add details to these workflows to create a draft product requirements document that was used to determine the resources and time needed to deliver the initial version of the product to market.

Brand Design

Joyhub started as a concept, so our in-house design team helped JoyHub iterate through multiple concepts for their application to find a style that matched the emotions of joy, warmth, and clarity that the client wanted the app to convey.
